JohnPaulB,

Where is my response to the last unsatisfactory response I got from BG? I posted a detailed response yesterday specifying a reasonable way forward.

Let me summarize the BG responses so far:

  1. Its not broken we can add a button on to the page.
  2. We have updated our tool, so you have to redesign the pages and buttons. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  3. We have updated our tool and eliminated the functionality that you use to maintain your site. It appears that you must have been using a flaw in the tool to manage it this way.  Now you must change your process for maintaining the site. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  4. You noticed that I am hosting my site with a company that us fully supporting  "BoldGrid Host" so take your problem to them and leave us alone. But we do understand your frustration.

I started with Web Hostiing Hub Support and they sent me to you because they couldn't figure it out. The thought because you had the code for your tool, that you might be able to find out where the bug in the new release might be that broke your tool .

Again, I proposed a reasonable set of remedies in my last response. I would like someone to respond to those three suggestions specifically. As far as I can tell no one has even attempted to troubleshoot this from a broken code perspective. Everyone seems to want to tell me that the way i have been successfully maintaining my site was some how wrong.

Jacqueems,

I apologize for being obtuse but your response is totally unacceptable to me. I assure you that the version I was using was not "repaired" to the point where the functionality no long exists. BG made changes to its tool and didn't even test them to determine what was going to change for your customers if you implemented the changes.  I consider your tool which was stable to be now unstable and buggy since the last update. As I see, we have three avenues of remedy, the order of my preference:

  1. You can specifically identify what you changed that broke my site and fix it so the site works and can be maintained using your tool set. OR
  2. You can help me reset my instance of the tool to the previous version of the tool. OR
  3. You can document a specific set of steps that I would use to achieve the results that I am looking for, namely:
    1. The ability to create additional buttons (to link pages) formatted as they are on my existing page
    2. The ability to place those new buttons anywhere on the existing page and align with buttons already present on the page.
    3. Test this process on a test page (you have created 2 so far as I know but neither are duplicates of the pages I need to be able to maintain using this functionality.

We need to find a way forward from this point. I have made a good faith effort to keep my instance of your took and the pluggins up today as you have requested. I have a tremendous amount of effort invested in the site I created and maintain using your tool.  Simply saying, "Oh well, we did something that broke the tool as you have used it for years..sorry for inconvenience." is not workable.  I have no idea what the escalation path might be for my issues but I promise I will find a way to make this decision not to support your product as painful for you as it you apparently want it to be for me.

Wow! This is so hard it seems. Perhaps we could solve this more effectively if I could get on the phone with someone so that I can demonstrate my problem.  I followed the directions in your reply and found the "workflow" changes you suggested unusable.

I can see where someone has created a new page (#6472 No Title) which was a copy of one of my recipe pages that has almost nothing to do with my problem. I also found a new "Test Page" that was blank.  So this back and forth method of support for your product is not working for my problem.

I just wish to be able to add an exact duplicate of my  current button design to a page full of buttons in the appropriate location either at the end of a row or the beginning AS I HAVE DONE HUNDREDS OF TIMES BEFORE. I shouldn't have to design the button, it is designed. I should have to create a new block because I am simply adding to an existing block, AS I HAVE DONE HUNDREDS OF TIMES BEFORE.

I will be happy to spend time demonstrating the exact nature of my problem to anyone who has the access to fix the problem or if you are convinced that the problem is fixed, demonstrate to me how it works.  I will also be happy to test any solution set that your team might come up with.

But this is still broken and still needs to be fixed.

James McCann.

Hi, Thank you for responding, but I think  you misunderstood my question or perhaps more accurately I misstated my problem. Before your last update to BG, I could put my cursor next to the button where I wanted to insert a new button exactly like it and click button and it would appear ready for my editing of the text and the url. I do not edit my pages in code or elements, that is why I use BG so that I can do visual editing.  I need a visual editing fix.

As far as I am concerned your last update broke your tool as I have used it for at least the past 2 years.

Thank you.
