    Hello,

    Issue 1

Boldgrid Site Health had the following critical issue, ‘Your site is running an outdated version of PHP (7.4.33) ….

I updated the PHP of my website using the instructions issued by Inmotion Hosting. According to Inmotion, my website’s PHP is now 8.4.

The critical error remains in Boldgrid Site Health, i.e., the PHP stubbornly remains at 7.4.33 despite my hosting service insisting it is at 8.4.

How do I encourage Boldgrid to update the PHP version?

    Issue 2

Boldgrid Site Health also had the following critical issue, ‘Your site could not complete a loopback request‘ and this error code ‘Error: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10002 milliseconds with 0 bytes received (http_request_failed)‘.

I don’t know if this is related to the PHP version but any help would be appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    Andy

    Hello,

Thanks for contacting BoldGrid support. May I please have your domain so I can check the php settings on your server?

    Thanks,

    Nicole

    Hi,

The domain you shared is a staging link on our demo servers, not your final domain where your PHP was updated. It looks like you need to migrate the site from staging to live you can do so by following these instructions.

    Hope this helps,

    Nicole

    Nicole,

Thanks for the answer but I am still struggling as I don’t want to ‘migrate the site from staging to live‘ as yet. The site isn’t finished and I would like to finish it before going live.

In the meantime, my site on your demo server is stuck using PHP version 7.4.33 which means (a) apparently it ‘does not receive security updates‘ and (b) I cannot update the Phoenix Media Rename plugin which says ‘There is a new version of Phoenix Media Rename available, but it does not work with your version of PHP.

Are you saying that it is impossible to update the PHP unless I go live? If so, should I be concerned about not being able to receive security updates?

Also, is there no way to update Phoenix Media Rename before I go live?

    Thanks for all the help,

    Andy

    Hello,

Unfortunately there is no way to update PHP on the demo servers at this time, I apologize. Any needed security updates will happen on your live server with the more current version of PHP.

If you want a version of the theme that works with the version of PHP you are using on the staged site, I’d contact the theme developers but keep in mind once you go live you’ll be on a different version of PHP. It sounds like our demo servers may not be a good fit for this use case as your staging and live environments should be similar.

Please let me know if you have any other questions,

    Nicole
