If a web browser is unable to load a Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) file or JavaScript file that is linked in the HTML <head> element of the page, the web browser will sometimes fail to load the rest of the page. The failure varies depending on the web browser; some web browsers will only show the top portion of page content, while other browsers will show only a blank white page.

Avoid frontend single points of failure for improved website loading performance by only loading CSS styling inline, and loading JavaScript files in the HTML <head> tag asynchronously. In addition to preventing single points of failure for your website loading, using inline CSS and loading JavaScript files asynchronously will make your website load more quickly in general.
