Before you can install a WordPress website with BoldGrid in cPanel, you need a domain to install it. Your cPanel account was created with a primary domain, but you can also choose to install your websites on subdomains or add-on domains. Follow these instructions to create a new subdomain or addon domain for your WordPress with BoldGrid website.

Create an Add-On Domain in cPanel

  1. Utilize your domain registrar’s DNS management tools to create a DNS A Record to your cPanel account’s IP address.
  2. Log into your cPanel dashboard according to your web host’s instructions.
  3. Locate the Domains section, and click on Addon Domains.
  4. Enter your domain name into the field.
  5. Use the default subdomain and document root that are automatically generated, unless you have a reason to create custom ones.
  6. Click Add Domain.
  7. Remember to allow 4-24 hours after creating your DNS A record for your DNS to propagate.

Create a SubDomain in cPanel

  1. Log into your cPanel dashboard according to your web host’s instructions.
  2. Locate the Domains section, and click on Subdomains.
  3. Choose the domain on which you’d like to create your subdomain from the dropdown menu, and enter your subdomain name.
  4. Use the default document root that is automatically generated, unless you have a reason to create a custom one.
  5. Click Create.
