Hi, I was using the boldgrid staging plugin to stage my website. When you “deploy staging”, there is a page where it asks you about which pages to redirect to once it goes active. Initially I had one of my pages (register) redirecting to the home page because it wasn’t created yet. Now that I’ve finished making the new page, I can’t get it to stop redirecting to the homepage! Whenever I put in the URL /register-home , it just redirects to the Home.

    I have tried:
Deleting the page and creating a new one with the same URL (/register-home)
Deleting the page, and creating a new one with a DIFFERENT URL (/register) but it still keeps rerouting.

This page is the registration page of the WPaffiliate plugin, where you create a new page in wordpress and place the shortcode into it.

I don’t know how to fix the redirect thing, and it seems that the error happened because when deploying the staged site, I had it initially route to home page.

Anyone else experience this? Or know what else I can do short of deleting theplugin and reinstalling it? I’m trying not to have to re-set up the affiliate accounts.
    Thanks!

    Hi Tam-

From what you’ve described, it sounds like you may need to “flush your permalinks.”

Navigate to Settings > Permalinks, and switch your permalinks to Plain, click save, and then switch them back and save once more. This will normally resolve redirect issues like the one you’ve described.

All that said, we no longer recommend using the BoldGrid Staging plugin, but rather recommend using BoldGrid Cloud WordPress instead. It has some major benefits over the old plugin. Since it’s a separate environment, your development work won’t affect your live site. You can also test out new plugins or functionality without risking errors on your live site.

As an InMotion Hosting customer, you already have access to Cloud WordPress premium in your BoldGrid Central account. Check out these guides on how to easily set up your staging site and how to deploy a Cloud staging site to production.
