I used the custom html text box within the advanced settings of the customizer but now that I’m trying to edit it as I have done previously, I’ve noticed that the text box is missing. Where else can I edit this? I don’t need to add any new information but actually edit what’s already there. For reference, I’m referring to the copyright text in the footer of this site: shonamoyce.com

    Hello Shona,

Thanks for submitting a question about advanced options. I’m not sure exactly which are you mean. Do you mean the Text editor in the post/page editor? Or, do you mean the Advanced features in the Customizer? Any extra information you can provide will help make sure we’re on the same page.

    Best,

    Christopher M.

Hi, I meant the advanced features in the Customizer. I used to be able to add custom html there but can’t seem to find it since the updates. Basically, I need to change the date in my footer.

    Thanks,

    Shona

    Hello Shona,

Depending on your version, the editors are still in the Advanced section.  However, if you’re trying to edit HTML in a footer, you should be able to go into the footer section of the customizer, then edit the footer widget.  It will let you change the text there through the visual editor, or the HTML if you use the Text editor.

I hope that helps to answer your question! If you require further assistance, please let us know!

Hello – I’m having the same issue. No matter how i get to the footer, “edit” lets me into just the “Built with…” line, not the Copyright line below it. Somehow i was able to change it in 2017, but haven’t been able to get into it at all this year to change it. Shona it looks like you were able to take the date off entirely, do you remember how you were able to get in to do that?  For reference, my site is capstonebks.com, i can edit all the items in my footer (badges, Built with… line) just not the Copyright line. Thanks!!

    Hello Cathy,

I’m not really sure what “copyright” text you’re referring to. That copyright text was not added by the BoldGrid theme.  It is definitely in the code somewhere though.  I recommend that you first look at the footer widgets and make sure they didn’t add it through there.  If it’s not there, it may have added directly into the footer in the theme files.  You will need to look for it there.
