I am a professional web developer and I chose BoldGrid through InMotion to develop some of the smaller websites for mom and pop businesses. I like your product however it is taking me much longer to do a website because I am limited to using premade blocks that I have to search through and reverse engineer. After completion, I have to remove all of the unused images and thumbs.
Do you have a “blank” template where I can drop in: Columns, Rows, Headers, Sliders, Text, Photos, etc. without having to choose from too many pre-made blocks? Also, how can I make my own “blank” blocks to save and export to another BoldGrid website?

Hello Ira,
Thanks for the question about a “blank template” for use in creating pages/posts with BoldGrid. You can always create a blank page and then not use the pre-built blocks. You would have to define all of elements of the page on your own. It would be easier to simply find the closest matching prebuild block and then delete the sections that you don’t need in the block. You can also go to existing blocks and copy the code in the text section if you want to move specific elements to a blank page. However, there are no blank templates other than the blank page.

I do understand what you are saying and I can work with that. The problem is with most themes (if not all) when you get a blank page it still has the characteristics of the theme. For example how do I put a Hero/100% image on the home page and different headers on the others? From the Customize Theme the “background” image is full on the home and cut off on the other pages, am I missing something?

If you have knowledge of PHP, HTML and CSS, a child theme can be used to do things like customize your page, header and footer templates, add additional widget areas or sidebars, and much more. We have a helpful guide that will explain the basics of creating a child theme. Also, on the BoldGrid Documentation page you will find detailed information about various aspects of the BoldGrid system. This information will primarily be useful for a developer or designer, as it assumes familiarity with HTML, CSS, PHP, etc.
