    Hello,

I am working on a new draft of the home page of the website. When I am on the draft copy for example, it has three columns so I align everything as I see fit, however, when I preview it the center column expands so let’s say the paragraph that was three lines within the column, has now expanded to only two lines.

Don’t know how to keep the draft page and the preview looking the same, column sizes that is.

Please help, I don’t want to keep going back and forth since

    Hi Sixto –

Thanks for reaching out with your questions about BoldGrid Post and Page Builder!

From what you describe it sounds like you are running into some differences when going to the preview due to the screen size. When editing a post/page by default the draft page will be adjusting it for the screen size closest to the size of the draft window, this is typically a little smaller than when you are viewing the actual page or on a preview.

Something you might try is setting the size for every screen type using the view controls. This should allow you to fine tune the sizing of your columns for each screen size.

Additionally, I saw that you had two other questions, I only published one of your questions from over the weekend so that we can keep the discussion all in one place, but for reference here are your first two questions:

“I am in the process of changing the website pages. When I create a draft, I can’t really see what the outcome is going to be because when I
“edit” the draft page it looks completely different from the actual page.

What is happening> Please advise as to how to fix this problem…

If I could attach a screenshot of the original page and the draft page you would see what I mean.

Not productive at the moment. Please help!”

“It seems that on the draft copy, one has to go to the menu on the right-hand of the page “options” scroll down, and pick the “Post and Page Builder” plug-in and the page reverts to using Post and Page Builder and looks exactly as the original.

    Mystery solved”

Please let us know if you have any further question on this!

    Hello,

I think you are saying is that when updating the draft page to view it in the different forms as in desktop, tablet, mobile, etc…… to see the resuls when I preview? I am editing it in Large view, If I change this to desktop view, okay, when I preview the draft it should look exactly like this desktop preview in draft mode, right? Is this what you are saying?

Let’s see If I can demonstrate it here since there is no way to send you a screenshot, please visualize!

Draft mode in desktop mode looks like this, Centered and three lines:

“Wellness is an individual pursuit—we have self-responsibility for our own
choices, behaviors, and lifestyles—but it is also significantly influenced by the
physical, social and cultural environments in which we live.” – Dr. Sixto

Draft mode in Large mode looks like this, Centered and three lines:

“Wellness is an individual pursuit—we have self-responsibility for our own choices, behaviors, and
lifestyles—but it is also significantly influenced by the physical, social and cultural environments in which we live.” – Dr. Sixto

When I hit publish a preview for the page, for either mode Large or Desktop, I get the following, please visualize:

The preview looks like this, centered and two lines with a widow…

“Wellness is an individual pursuit—we have self-responsibility for our own choices, behaviors, and lifestyles— (first line)
but it is also significantly influenced by the physical, social and cultural environments in which we live.” – Dr. (second line)
    Sixto (widow).

So matter which mode I use to edit, I still get the same output as above.

What setting am i missing so that what I see on the screen is what I get on the preview?

This is new to me, don’t remember it doing this before. Also, forget about the other two questions….

I am working with a draft copy of my home page to make edits and then publish.

When I go into the Appearance tab of the Dashboard to look at the background items to my web page, menus, etc. although I am editing the draft page, it brings in the live page. To reiterate overriding the page tht I am on (the draft copy) with live page makes this task of editing the entire look of the website impossible.

How do i make it so that the when using Apperances it brings in the Draft copy and the not the live page?

    Hi Sixto,

Be sure to Update/Save your draft before viewing the items in the WordPress Appearance > Customize . If you don’t update the draft before visiting the Appearance tab it will not retain the changes you’ve made.

If you would like to send us a screenshot of what you’re experiencing you can use a platform like ImgBB to share your image with us.

You also want to be sure that after saving the draft, you purge any cache from your website, that includes browser cache, and any server side caching agents you might be running.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello Brandon,

    Wish this was easier…..

    Here we go….

when I open the Draft copy of the Home page (i have made color changes to this one, so it does not look like the published one). You can see in the tab it says copy: https://ibb.co/qxDBTp9

Then, when I go to the Dashboard on this page and go down to Appearance, Customizer….. click on it and I get the following… although I was in the draft page, the Appearance, Customizer opens up the published page. See colors of blocks same as published page: https://ibb.co/mbcMCmb

So, I closed the above out, cleared cache, and tried it this way (just happened upon it). I go back to the Draft page back in the Dashboard and I Preview from there and I get a preview of the copy of the draft page with the existing Menu (orange) background as seen here: https://ibb.co/gw73v43

Then If i go right under where the URL is where it says customize right below on the bar. The Customizer does pull in the draft preview or the draft copy and here I have changed the background color to purple as seen here and I have saved it as draft as well, see top menu (draft saved is grayed out). See here: https://ibb.co/6RsxJ0V

Okay so all is well right? I hit the preview link given here and I get a copy of the draft page with the correct draft page, correct color background for menu. See here: https://ibb.co/3Cb4xCd

The question is….. How do i retrieve or where did the Customizer save this edited draft page because I can not see it in my “Pages” menu items… See here:https://ibb.co/LQXQVQy

However, if I go back to the dashboard and on the left hand side open up Apperance, Customerizer, the draft page with the purple items is there. Still says Draft Saved. Cool

Now, If I hit publish it will make it go live right? Or if I hit publish will it update the copy that resides here: https://ibb.co/LQXQVQy

Please advise…. because if I pull up the draft version Home-Copy-Draft that is in the “Pages” menu and preview it, it comes up again with the color in the menu that is live NOT the draft copy that was saved with the purple menu background as seen before.

Again if I “publish” the page that is in the Appearance, Customizer saved as draft, where does it go? Does it go live and if it does where, or does it update the pages in my dashboard here: https://ibb.co/LQXQVQy

    Help!
