    Hi,

Could you please advise on the following:

I am following the instructions recommended here

How To Exclude Rank Math Sitemaps from Caching

Under the heading 2. W3 Total Cache

To exclude Rank Math’s sitemap from being cached by W3 Total Cache, head over to Performance > Page Cache from your WordPress dashboard. Then, enter the below code in the Never cache the following pages settings

    sitemap(_index)?\.xml(\.gz)?
    [a-z0-9_\-]*sitemap[a-z0-9_\-]*\.(xml|xsl|html)(\.gz)?
    ([a-z0-9_\-]*)?\.xml

    Please see screenpic: https://snipboard.io/L0fEx3.jpg
This is what my code in the settings look like. (There is also another line below hidden from view: wp-.*\.php)

    Please see screenpic: https://snipboard.io/wo7cCp.jpg
There is code in the setting “Non-trailing slash pages”. Is states underneath “Cache the specified pages even if they don’t have trailing slash. I haven’t entered this code manuually, I don’t know what it appeared in these settings.

Should I remove this code as I don’t want the sitemap cached? Thanks!

    2.1 Database
I don’t use database caching so I left that part out

    2.2 Minification

If you use minification in W3 Total Cache, navigate to Performance > Minify. Then, scroll down to the Never minify the following pages option and paste the code snippet

    2.3 404 error Exceptions List

head over to Performance > Browser Cache. Then, add the code snippet to the 404 error exception list settings

(It was already entered in the field)

    Thanks!

PS: This is my sitemap link: https://www.hundetraining-mit-roya.at/sitemap_index.xml
As I still have WP Maintenance on these links on the sitemap currently lead to the Coming Soon page.

(I know this is unrelated to W3 Total Cache, but do you know if there are google penalties because of this?)

    Thanks!

    Hello Mel,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I’ve checked the sitemap you provided and as I can see all the steps you have taken in the W3 Total Cache, successfully secluded the sitemap from being cached. As I can see your sitemap is not cached now, so there is no need to add or remove additional steps.

And no, I don’t believe there will be any google penalties because of this.

    Thanks!
