Greetings, I am consolidating two WordPress websites into one (on the same host server – InMotion Hosting). I am exporting the pages and content from a site I built using BoldGrid into a site I built using the Avada Builder. I am successful in importing the content and images, but it is the page designs that aren’t working. I have added the BoldGrid plugin to the Avada site, but the pages still don’t look the same as they do on the original site I built using BoldGrid.

The Avada site uses “Containers” and the BoldGrid site uses “Blocks.” I have created “Blocks” I like and stored them in the “Block Library.” Can I import those “Blocks” into my Avada site, or do I have to make them all over again?

    Thanks,
    Steve Alley

    Hello Steve,

Thank you for reaching out to our support team.

When you mention BoldGrid, I’m assuming you’re using the Crio theme and are trying to migrate away from it. If that’s the case, Crio is built on a framework that handles much of the layout and design work behind the scenes.

You might be able to use Post and Page Builder to extract the HTML from your existing pages, but in most cases, you will likely need to recreate the pages manually. I apologize for the inconvenience, and I’m here if you need any help through the process.

    Thanks,
    Elana

Thanks, Elana. I was hoping that wouldn’t be the case. Thanks for replying.

I am trying to use “Total Upkeep” to transfer data from one website to another. After I have made a backup file of the source site, copied that link, and pasted it into the destination site field of the “Total Upkeep” transfer option. If I click “Restore,” will the destination site’s data file be completely overwritten by the new backup file link information, or will the new backup file information simply be added to the destination file’s data?

    Thanks,

    Hello Steve,

Thank you for reaching out to our support team.

If you click Restore, it will overwrite your current site with the backup data. However, if you’re looking to move content to a different site to test a new theme, starting fresh on the new site is often a smoother approach.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,
    Elana
