I can’t get a footer to appear on my pages. When I go into the customizer, I can see the footer template I have designated for the page. However, as soon as I close out of the customizer, the footer is gone.

    Hi Melissa,

Thanks so much for reaching out with our Crio WordPress theme questions!  I think the first thing we want to do is make sure that you’re saving updates to your footer template.  Second try clearing all cache associated with your website.  That includes browser cache and any server side caching agents you might be running.

I’m also noticing a 404 error on all of your site pages.  This type of error could also prevent your footer template from displaying properly.  To correct this try refreshing permalinks from your WordPress dashboard.  To refresh permalinks:

    • Login to your website’s administrator Dashboard.
    • Navigate to Settings > Permalinks.
    • Click Save Changes.

You don’t need to make any changes to the permalinks page, simply save to rebuild permalinks in your database.

I hope this helps Melissa, please let us know if you have any other questions for us!

    Hi Brandon,

I have been saving updates and changes to the footer template in the Crio Footer area of the control panel. I’ve cleared the cache and updated the permalinks, as suggested. I’ve also made the Home page public, which has resolved the 404 issue, I think.

In the Customizer, I’ve got the Footer Templates enabled and have selected the one I want to appear. However, my page is not showing any footer unless I have Customizer open – then I see it. But as soon as I close the Customizer, the footer is no longer visible.

    Hi Melissa,

It’s odd your footer still isn’t showing up after saving your changes and clearing cache.  I see you host with our premium partner DreamHost which means you have access to BoldGrid Premium support.

If it’s okay with you we’d like to get you over to premium support so that we can log in to your site and address the issue directly.  You can access premium support directly from your BoldGrid central account. To log into BoldGrid Central you would simply use the same credentials you use to log into your Dreamhost web hosting account.

After logging in you can follow this link and scroll down to premium support or click the help icon in the top right corner.

Thank you, we look forward to assisting you further with this!
