I am using the Hydra theme on my web site, asniffaway.com. I am working on the header and I am hoping to get some help with 2 things:

    1. Can the portion of the header with my logo be narrower? There is a lot of white space under the logo that I would like to remove.
    2. I’d like the main pic to be a bit larger on my home page. If you look at my other pages, the pic is displayed more because as it appears to me, the page content starts further down. In the home page, the page content starts higher up blocking some of the pic. Can the page content start further down on the home page like on the other pages?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello Rosana,

Thank you for your question about the Hydra theme. First, about the logo images, check to make sure that the image itself is cropped and resized to eliminate any extra space around it. Then you should be able to resize the logo with the slider in the Customizer.

The second part of your question can be accomplished by editing the elements in the custom CSS editor. But, the easiest way would be to put a blank block at the top of the Home page content. This could even be accomplished with a few strikes of the Return key on the keyboard while editing the page.

Testing this issue on the Hydra theme, however, I noticed all of the pages start their content at the same height. Are you able to provide the steps taken to so far that made then uneven?

    Hi Christopher,

Thank you for your reply. The logo is cropped as close to the design as possible. I have resized it, but the white space I am looking to eliminate is the space beneath the logo. There is too much blank header space under the logo for my liking and am hoping to find a way to make the whole header narrower.

I tried your idea of adding some space at the top of the home page to lower it some, and I really thought that would work! But all it did was start the text lower and didn’t change it so we can see the header pic better.

I am really sorry, but I was trying so many things, I can’t really remember the steps I ended up taking to make the page uneven. I’m guessing I deleted something from the template that I should not have?

Is there a way to make a temporary page and play around with it to see if I can get it to look right before making it live? I could try copying one of the other pages and mess around with that and if I get it right then I can turn that into my home page. Is that possible?

Thanks again for your help! 🙂

    Hello Rosana,

Thank you for contacting us. You could create a staging site and customize it as needed. Then when it is ready, copy the page “text” to a page in your live site.

    Thank you,

    John-Paul
