GuestHi. My backups are no longer working. I followed through with a sanity test backing up my txt files. The backup completed. So according to the instructions I was following it means that my host (Rapyd.cloud) is the culprit. What recourse do I have?
BoldGrid Support
KeymasterHello,
Thanks for contacting BoldGrid Support. I’m glad to hear the sanity test worked. That does confirm the plugin itself is functioning properly. Since the issue seems to be related to the hosting environment, there are a couple of steps you can try in Total Upkeep to work around the problem:
Split Backups Into Smaller Parts
Instead of running a full backup, try taking two separate backups:One backup of the database only
One backup of the site files only
This often helps avoid resource or timeout limits that some hosts may enforce.
Selective File Backup
Within the backup settings, you can exclude certain large or unnecessary directories (for example,/cache/
,/backup-archive/
, or large media folders). This reduces the overall workload and can help the backup complete successfully.Check Available Disk Space / Limits
Some hosts place limits on storage or maximum file size. Double-check with Rapyd.cloud that you have enough disk space and that backup processes aren’t being restricted.Alternative Storage Options
If your host continues to restrict local backups, consider setting up a remote storage option (Google Drive, Amazon S3, etc.) within Total Upkeep. This moves the heavy lifting off your hosting server.
Please give some of this a try and let us know if it works.
Thanks,
Nicole P.
