    Hi.

We have a simple website with the Inspirations Resolve theme that was created several years ago.
I’ve noticed that the WooCommerce templates are significantly out of date.

After some searching, it appears that the Resolve theme has been discontinued from Inspirations and is now a part of the Crio package.
Is this correct? If so, what is the impact of just leaving the old Woocommerce templates in place?

I suppose we could upgrade to Crio – although our site needs are simple. Through Inmotionhosting, I don’t think I’ve been paying an anuual fee for BoldGrid.
So this Crio would entail a new monthly/annual charge. It’s relatively small now, but I lose control over the money I must spend.

What does the migration path look like from Resolve Inspiration to Resolve Crio? We’ve done basic work on our site, but would we need to hire someone to convert?

It’s a little disconcerting that what we used before at little cost, now morphs into a subscription revenue stream for you – with no control over future price increases.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello Kevin,

Thank you for reaching out to our support team.

If everything is working as expected with WooCommerce, you’re fine to continue using your current setup. That said, please note that our Version 1 themes are no longer supported. You’re welcome to continue using the theme if it meets your needs, but keep in mind that updates or fixes will not be provided.

If you are an InMotion Hosting customer you should have access to everything you need to setup Crio Pro WordPress theme! Along with our full suite of BoldGrid products. These are available directly from your Central dashboard and included with your InMotion Hosting plan.

Let me know if you’d like help getting started with Crio or have any other questions.

    Thanks
    Elana.

    Hi.

    Thank you for your response.

I still would like an answer to one of the questions in the original post,

“What does the migration path look like from Resolve Inspiration to Resolve Crio? We’ve done basic work on our site, but would we need to hire someone to convert?”

Since I started this reply, I have been in substantial contact with the InMotion Hosting tech support folks.
They even walked me through removing Inspirations and installing/activating Crio.

Then, they said that they didn’t think that Resolve was directly ported to Crio where all I had to do was find/activate it in Crio and I would be whole again. They believe that I need to touch all of the website pages and do work to recover the original look and feel, on a maintained Crio Resolve theme.

So they pushed me back to BoldGrid tech support to get clarification and help.

So what is the real story here and what is the migration path?

    regards,

    Kevin

    Hello Kevin,

Thank you for reaching out to our support team. I apologize for the delay and truly appreciate your patience.

Migrating from the Resolve theme to Crio can vary depending on how your current site is set up. Custom pages, CSS, and any added WordPress snippets may need to be manually reviewed and brought over during the transition.

I recommend creating a staging environment using a backup of your production site. From there, you can activate Crio and identify which parts of the layout or content need adjustments. You may need to recreate some or all of your pages, as well as rebuild custom menus within the Crio theme.

Since you mentioned you’re using InMotion Hosting, you have access to our premium support team, who can offer more direct assistance than we can in a public forum. To connect with them, log in to your BoldGrid Central account and click “Support Request” to open a private ticket.

Let me know if you’d like help setting up staging or reviewing anything.

    Thanks,
    Elana
