I’m building a gallery slideshow and would like to include specific formatting for the text below the images.  The pictures are artworks and the titles include dimensions and construction details.

Ideally, I’d like to have the captions appear like this:

    Title

    Year created

    Construction

    Dimensions

Right now I’m unable to format the text in the caption box in any other way than a long string of words.

Please let me know if it’s possible to customize the caption field.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Thanks for submitting a question editing media captions. It looks like you are trying to add a line break after part of the caption. This is possible with single images because you can use the text editor to add manual HTML page breaks (<br>) in the caption text where needed. However, because galleries are generated differently you do not have that level of control.

    Best,

    Thanks for your answer.

Other than embedding the titles in the images themselves, are there any other options for the formatting I’m trying to achieve?

For instance, can one add “text boxes” below the one already in place?  Or, is there a plugin for the gallery that can be added for greater control?

There are no plugins we know of that will add that greater control of the gallery but there are plugins that will give you a new gallery with more funconality that may work for you such as this one.

    Best Regards,
