    Hi Team,

I hope you’re all doing well. I am facing an issue with my two cloud press websites and I could use some help in resolving it.

Here are the details of the problem:

    Website 1: https://demo2.cloudwp.dev/trial-128uyyy7
    Website 2: https://demo2.cloudwp.dev/trial-128uyyy7/wp-content/test1/

Initially, I created Website 1 and started working on it. Later, we had an intern join our company, and to ensure his changes didn’t directly impact mine, I used a plugin called “Duplicator” to duplicate Website 1 and created Website 2 for him to work on.

Recently, I reviewed the intern’s changes on Website 2 and made sure that everything is working correctly. Then, I created a backup using the “Total Upkeep” plugin. Subsequently, I downloaded the backup of Website 2 and uploaded it to Website 1. I then restored this version on Website 1.

However, after the restoration, I encountered an error message when trying to access Website 1 through the provided URL: “THE LOCATION YOU REQUESTED DOES NOT EXIST.” Furthermore, when attempting to log in to the WordPress admin site of Website 1, I found myself redirected to the WordPress admin site of Website 2.

I’m seeking your expertise to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Your guidance in untangling this situation would be highly appreciated.

Looking forward to your prompt response.

    Hi Roobha,

Thanks for reaching out although I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble restoring your Total Upkeep backup.

If you can still access the backups in your source site (Website 2), are you able to delete and recreate the Cloud instance of (Website 1) and reattempt the transfer? That would probably be the quickest way to resolve this.

You could also try running new backup of (Website 2) and restoring that just to be sure you’re working with a fresh backup file.

I really hope this helps Roobha but please let us know if you need further assistance!

    Hi Brandon,

    Thank you for your feedback.

Before I try the steps that you suggested, I’d like to reconfirm something. Will recreating the Cloud instance of Website 1 affect Website 2 in any way? This is a critical information and it would be great if you enlighten me on that.

    Hello –

As an update, we did just resolve the issue you were experiencing with website 1 and you should be able to access that now as you were previously.

In regards to your most recent question. That is hard to say for sure. Based on what you are showing it appears that Website 2 is installed into the wp-content directory of website 1 so there is a possibility that removing and re-creating it will affect website 2. I’m not sure how Website 2 was installed in the first place but I’d recommend against hosting a site as a subdirectory to another. The best way to work with two sites in this fashion is to use two separate Cloud WP sites to ensure that one site doesn’t affect the other and so that you don’t run into any cross-talk issues like you described with accessing the wp-admin dashboard.

I hope this helps Roobha but please let us know if you need further assistance!
