When I “Save Draft” in my staged site. It does not keep changes I make to the Theme. Such as logo adding add background changing and menu additions. What am I doing wrong?

    Hello Andy A,

Thanks for submitting a question about saving content. Is there a specific error that you’re seeing? Or, once pressing the Save button, nothing happens? Does the unsaved content revert back to the way it was before you made changes? Any follow-up information you have can help us replicate the issue or find a possible solution. A draft not saving may prove to be caused by something outside BoldGrid, like a general WordPress issue. Any extra information you can provide will be helpful.

    Best,

    Christopher M.

    Hello,

I’ve been having the same problem and don’t know how to fix it.

I customize my staged website, save a draft, came back to it and it shows the default theme. I do not want to publish it until it is done…

However, hitting “Save Draft” seems to not be doing anything. The changes to the logo image and background do not save, but the title of the page is “customized” to the one I put originally.

Is there anything else that should be done to save it?

All my other pages save just fine.

    Hello,

You should not need to do anything else other than save draft, You may have to clear your browser cache before going back into the customizer. Are you seeing any errors in your PHP or Web server error logs?

    Best Regards,

    Hi Kyle,

Thank you for your answer, however I’m not quite sure how to check for PHP or Web server error logs…

I’ve looked into it and apparently I need to find a php.ini file but I can’t seem to find it on the CSS/HTML Editor.

Am I looking at the wrong place? I’m using the swifty theme.

    All the best,

    Carolina

To save your changes, simply select Publish.  As long as you are working with the staging site and not the active site, the changes are only visible to you. Selecting Publish saves the changes to your staged site.
