Hi, I would like to ask few questions:

    1. Is there SIZE (In MB/GB) limitation of uploaded video file?
    2. Is there SIZE (in minutes) limitations of uploaded video file?
    3. Which format is better (faster to open, more stable for the customers/visitors of the web-page) to upload – avi, mp4, flv….some other?
    4. I want to upload video file which i edited in Adobe Premiere Pro, how can I do that?
    5.  I saw all your designs and patterns – they are very very similar so I am confused which one to choose when it comes to uploading videos? Would be there any difference between “Diced” and “Florentine” for example? Between “Florentine” in “Music” and “Florentine” in “Real Estate”?

Thanks for your questions about adding video to your BoldGrid Site.

First, please remember that BoldGrid is a plugin for WordPress.  Many of your video limitations will depend on your host and the type of subscription that you have selected.  For example, a shared server subscription would not be suitable to host a large video  as opposed to using a dedicated server subscription.

    1. Is there SIZE (In MB/GB) limitation of uploaded video file?  Depends on the server and subscription you’re using to host the site.
    2. Is there SIZE (in minutes) limitations of uploaded video file?  Depends on the server and subscription you’re using to host the site.  Larger videos are not recommended for hosting on a server.  For one, you’re typically limited to a single distribution point, which means that only people close to the server would have optimal viewing of the file.  You should consider using a CDN (Content Delivery Network) if you’re going to be using large static files.
    3. Which format is better (faster to open, more stable for the customers/visitors of the web-page) to upload – avi, mp4, flv….some other?  I typically see MP4 files.  However, you need to also determine with you’re using streaming video files or not.  MP4 files can be optimized for streaming.  It again depends upon the delivery mechanism.
    4. I want to upload video file which i edited in Adobe Premiere Pro, how can I do that? Video is handled in WordPress like any media file – through the Media library.  You can upload a video file there.
    5.  I saw all your designs and patterns – they are very very similar so I am confused which one to choose when it comes to uploading videos? Would be there any difference between “Diced” and “Florentine” for example? Between “Florentine” in “Music” and “Florentine” in “Real Estate”?  The main difference would be the graphics used, but often the formatting remains the same.  Florentine in Music and Florentine in Real Estate is mainly a difference in the media and colors used.

Just as a quick tip, check out this article about hosting videos (mainly about not hosting it yourself).  Hosting videos can be a complex thing depending on what you’re doing.  Make sure to review everything that’s involved in order to make the right decision.

    Best regards,

    Arnel C.
