    Hi there!

Our website already uses W3TC for caching and optimization and we just started using CloudFlare’s services for it’s WAF.

We just completed setting up our servers with CloudFlare and now I just activated the CloudFlare extension from the W3TC plugin and completed the authorization.

I scrolled down to review what settings are on there and saw that the Web application firewall checkbox is unchecked. I went on to check it, but it didn’t save the settings and threw the following error:
    `
    Failed to update CloudFlare settings:
Failed to update option waf: Not allowed to edit setting for waf
    `

WAF settings seem to work when testing, but I don’t understand what are the W3TC’s extension settings doing … What is that error and what do I do about the settings?

    Thanks in advance!

Note: I am using CloudFlare API key with full access.
    PHP version: 7.4.33
    WP version: 6.2
    W3TC version: 2.3.1

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to assist you with this.
Can you please share which Cloudflare plan you are using to connect with the W3 Total Cache, and have you set any custom rules in WAF settings – Cloudflare dashboard?
    Thanks!

    Hi,

I am using the free Cloudflare plan and I have set custom WAF rules in the Cloudflare dashboard.

When I go to WP's dashboard > W3TC > Extensions > CF and enable WAF and save settings, I get greeted with this message:
    `
    Failed to update CloudFlare settings:
Failed to update option waf: Not allowed to edit setting for waf
    `

My WAF settings are working, as all the traffic is routed through CF, but I was curious what are those settings for then.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

    Thank you for your feedback.
This was created a long time ago, and now the access for this is restricted using API.
We’ll be checking this and making changes to this option.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention
