Running your first Backup with Total Upkeep

Total Upkeep WordPress Backup Plugin

Total Upkeep allows you to backup your WordPress site any time you choose. We recommend taking a backup as soon as you install the plugin, so you always have something to restore from in case of catastrophe. In order to run a manual backup using the Total Upkeep plugin, follow the directions listed below.

  • In the Dashboard, Navigate to Total Upkeep → Backup Archives
  • Click Backup Site Now
  • Specify specific files or database to backup pressing Backup Site Now or use the default settings for a full backup

Download a WordPress Backup

  • In the Dashboard, Navigate to Total Upkeep → Backup Archives
  • Select View Details to the right of the backup
  • Select Download to Local Machine

Congratulations! You now know how to manually run a backup, and download it to your computer. Next, you may want to learn more about configuring remote storage on FTP or Amazon S3.
