    Hello sportslady180,

    Thank you for contacting us. WooCommerce has “shortcodes” you can use for things such as showing a single product, checkout links or recent products among other things. Here is a helpful link to the official WooCommerce Shortcode documentation. Also, here is a link to the WordPress Codex on shortcodes.

    Thank you,

    Hello timmy,

    We could not find an easy way to accomplish this, but you may be able to custom-code/develp a solution. Alternately, you can use Roles to group people together and securely allow them access to upload images, or edit pages. Visitors would have to be at least a “Contributor” in order to manage a Post.

    Hello Timmy,

    Thank you for contacting us. If you have installed a staging site, it adds the ability to copy pages. For example you could:

    1. Log into BoldGrid.
    2. Click Pages.
    3. Roll your mouse over the page you want to copy, and click “Copy to Staging” to make a duplicate.
    4. Then, when you want the page to be available for your main (Active) site, roll your mouse over the page and click the “Copy to Active” link.

    Let us know if you have any additional questions,

    Hello Osama,

    Yes, since BoldGrid is a WordPress plugin, you have full ownership of your site and can transfer it to any host.

    Hello Susan,

    Thank you for contacting us. Here are the steps:

    1. In the Customizer click on Menus.
    2. Then towards the upper right under the ( ? ) there’s a cog wheel. Click on that to view the Advanced menu properties, then check the box for Link Target.
    3. Click the cog again to make the advanced menu disappear.
    4. Click your Social Media menu, then the one you want to update. The option will now be available to “Open link in a new tab” check the box for that.

    Thank you,

    Hello youngm7,

    Thank you for contacting us. 2017 is not a BoldGrid theme, so it cannot be modified with the BoldGrid editor. But, you can modify this using the WordPress customizer. Below are the steps to take:

    1. Log into WordPress.
    2. Click Customize.
    3. Cick the Additional CSS link.
    4. Input the following CSS, and update the size (30px) as needed. :

    .navigation-top {
    font-size: 30px !important;}
    Thank you,

    JohnPaul B

    Hello sjeffs,

    The first time you go through the Inspiration process, it will install the site you as your main site. If you have any content (existing Pages/Posts) then it will give you the option to create a staging site. For example, you could create a blank page, or “coming soon” page, then go through the “Inspiration” process. The final step will give you the option to “Keep my existing website available for visitors and make this new Inspiration a ‘Staged Website’.”

    You could also go through “Inspiration” process twice, and the second instance will ask you if you want to make a staging site.

    Thank you,

    We are happy to guide you in using the BoldGrid plugin. But unfortunately, since this is a custom-coding solution you will have to determine and test the code for your specific site. Essentially, WordPress is designed to server the same header.php file for each page. So, changing the nature of this will require you to override, or workaround WordPress functionality.

    Thank you,

    JohnPaul B

    Hello MattyD,

    Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, since the “Header” is part of the theme, changes will display on all pages. This is because WordPress calls in the header.php file to display on top. While it may be possible to make a workaround, it will require custom PHP, or CSS coding. It looks like this is not possible in Beaver without custom code as well, see here. I could not find a post regarding this on Live Composer’s website, but it is most likely similar since it is powered by WordPress as well.

    Also, keep in mind that it is common for sites to have the same header on each page since it provides continuity with navigation links, and menus, etc.

    Thank you,

    Hello bmat123,

    Thank you for contacting us. In our tests the “Call to Action” on the Diced theme is working correctly.

    We are happy to help you troubleshoot further, but will need some additional information. Does it disappear randomly, or when working on the site? For example, does it happen after making changes to a page?

    Can you provide a link to the site for us to test?

    Did you use any custom Javascripts, or CSS?

    Have tried disabling any additional 3rd party plugins you may be using?

    Thank you,

    Thank you for contacting us. We are happy to help, but it is not clear what you are trying to accomplish.

    Do you want to Add a New Page, or Add a Page to the Menu?

    If not, please provide some additional details, or links.

    Hello rcnassoc1,

    Thank you for contacting us. This is actually the nature of the WordPress editor. To quote a WordPress moderator in this post, “It is expected behaviour. The Visual tab is not meant to be used as a preview of the Text tab. The “Preview” button is meant to be used to preview your Text editor changes.”

    Thank you,

    Hello puredancestudio,

    Thank you for contacting us. You can edit the transparency on when editing a page by clicking the section, then clicking the “Section Background” link. Choose “Color” then click the paint brush next to “Custom Color.” On the bottom right of the Color Picker page you will see a transparency slider (with a checkerboard background) slide this down to adjust the transparency.

    Hello Dico1o1,

    Thank you for contacting us. When you Install your first BoldGrid Inspiration the final step should ask you if you want to install the site as a “Staging” or “Active” site. Choose “Staging” should allow you to work on the site without it showing up live.

    Hello pmicznik,

    Since it is difficult to say what has changed since the theme was installed, I recommend changing the theme, and reinstalling the inspiration. Then change back to your original theme. This should start your themes over.

    Alternately, you can also start over completely in BoldGrid if you like.

    Hello puredancestudio,

    Thank you for contacting us. We are happy to help, but will need some additional information. As a test, are you able to add a new widget to the area?

    Turning on WordPress debugging may provide a more detailed error message.

    Try disabling any other 3rd party plugins you have installed, other than BoldGrid.

    Also, review anything you were working on  before this started occurring.

    Can you provide a link to the site for us to test?

    Hello thewholewheat,

    Yes, you are correct about the sizes. This is standard bootstrap coding, here is a helpful bootstrap reference guide.

    Also, here is a BoldGrid reference on grid sizing that explains:

    As the BoldGrid Editor plugin calculates Column sizes for xs, sm, and md sizes, it will add the default size of 12 in the markup for any size that has not been specified.

    Hope this helps,

    Hello Walt,

    Thank you for contacting us. You can use the Customizer to adjust how the background displays, this is covered in our guide Customizer: How to Use the Background Tab. If this is not adjusting the way you would like, you may have to use custom coding to develop a solution.

    in reply to: iPad Layout Blocking Header Content? #24557

    Hello Robert,

    Thank you for contacting us. We spent quite some time testing this, and it is being caused by a “user agent” setting for iPad. You can override this by adding the following code to the “Custom Theme JS” editor, in the Customizer:

    jQuery( document ).ready( function() {
    ‘use strict’;
    if ( ! jQuery( ‘script[src*=”boldgrid-sticky-nav”]’ ).length ) {
    var adjust_content = function() {
    var in_customizer = false,
    header_height = jQuery( ‘.site-header’ ).height(),
    screen_width = true === in_customizer ? jQuery( window ).width() + 16 : jQuery( window ).width();

    if ( ‘undefined’ !== typeof wp ) {
    in_customizer = ‘undefined’ !== typeof wp.customize ? true : false;
    }

    // Desktop.
    if ( screen_width > 768 ) {
    jQuery( ‘.site-content’ ).css( ‘padding-top’, header_height + ‘px’ );

    // Mobile.
    } else {
    jQuery( ‘.site-content’ ).css( ‘padding-top’, ‘0px’ );
    }
    };
    adjust_content();
    jQuery( window ).resize( adjust_content );
    }
    });

    Thank you,

    Hello nityasri,
    Here is a link to the official BoldGrid youtube page: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJdzI_tYfKZjV2SDfRVSUlg
    The “Connect Key” is your license to install and use BoldGrid. We do not have a video for getting your Connect Key (here is our helpful guide), but you can just click “Don’t have a Connect Key yet or lost your Key?” and enter your contact information. You will then be emailed a free connect key.

    We are happy to help troubleshoot your social media plugin but will need some additional information, such as the specific plugin you are using. Can you provide a link to your site for us to test?

    You can add a copyright symbol (©) to your footer with a widget. This is covered in our guide on How to Use Widgets in the WordPress Customizer. We also have a video on this topic here.

    Yes, you can always create a “text block” on a page, by selecting the “text” editor tab and enclosing it in paragraph tags such as this:

    <p>This is my text block!</p>

    You can also Set up a Blog Page in BoldGrid. There are not currently any BoldGrid specific tools for adding Google ads, but since BoldGrid is run within WordPress there are many tools for accomplishing this. I found a helpful guide via online search on How to Properly Add Google AdSense to Your WordPress Site.

    Hello Rosana,

    Thank you for contacting us. You could create a staging site and customize it as needed. Then when it is ready, copy the page “text” to a page in your live site.

    Thank you for the additional information, here are some updated steps. From Customize ->Advanced, click Footer Settings ->Edit Footer Widgets. From there you should see the footer widget that contains your badge, click it. This will bring up the “Editor,” click the “Visual” tab. From there you should see the image, click it and drag the corners to resize. Resizing here will adjust the code automatically. If that is not working, try clicking the “Text” tab and resize with the code there. Let us know if you have any further information or questions. Thank you,

    John-Paul

    Hello cammeo2,

    Thank you for contacting us. You should be able to resize your badge with the visual Page editor. Here are the steps:

    1. Log into BoldGrid.
    2. Click Pages.
    3. Find the page, and click Edit.
    4. Make sure you are on the “Visual” tab.
    5. Scroll down and click your image. You should then see a small square in each corner of the image. Click and drag any corner to resize.

    Alternately, you can add custom height and width to the code for your image. For example:

    <a href=”https://ima.proexamvault.com/badges/1b968db3-ca2b-49b1-851c-8415e381b7fb”>
    <img src=”https://ima.proexamvault.com/images/badge/ee255fc0-b954-4135-870c-84e0498f44e2/710a432761c84149_m.png” width=”190″ height=”190″ alt=”Certified Management Accountant issued by IMA/CMA to Catherine M. Connell” />
    </a>

    Then, just adjust the “height” and “width” values by replacing the “190” with a different size. The size numbers are measured in pixels. Thank you,

    John-Paul

    Hello Shannon,

    Thank you for contacting us. You can Add pages to BoldGrid from your Dashboard. After logging in to your BoldGrid admin section click Pages, then click Add New (from the left menu). You should then see the “New From GridBlocks” page, where you can choose from several templates, or create a blank page. Here is a link to our helpful guide on How to Add a Page in BoldGrid.

    Click All Pages to view a list of your existing pages. You can roll your mouse over these pages and click Edit to modify them.

    I’m happy to help you edit your header, but will need more information on what you are trying to accomplish. Please provide additional details on the changes you would like to make.

    Thank you,

    John-Paul

    Instead of editing the config files, we recommend removing the site title directly from the customizer. Here are the steps:

    1. Login into BoldGrid.
    2. Click Customize.
    3. Choose if you want to customize the “Active” or “Staged” theme.
    4. Click Site Title & Logo.
    5. Delete your “Site Title.” You can also delete your “Tagline” and “Logo” here if necessary.

    This is referred to as “Pagination” you can add this functionality with a plugin, here is a link to the list of plugins. Be sure to choose one that is updated regularly and compatible with the latest version of WordPress:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=paginate

    Alternately, if you are comfortable with coding, you can custom-code a solution. Here is a helpful reference:

    Yes, you can copy/duplicate the pages and posts to the staging site. Navigate to the Pages/Posts page (Login to the Dashboard, then click the Pages, or Posts link), then roll your mouse over each Page/Post and choose the “Copy to Staging” option. Once you have copied them over, it should look like your active site.

    There is no “built-in” way to accomplish this in BoldGrid. This means you must custom-code/develop a solution or possibly find a 3rd party plugin to do this.

    In my tests, I get different results when I do a “line” break (enter key) versus just adding blank “spaces” (spacebar) after the text. As a test, try adding blank spaces instead. If the space count is similar it should display similarly. Also, try saving and viewing in a browser to confirm, as the display in the editor may not exactly match how it looks in a browser.
