Important Info For Your Staging Site | BoldGrid

When you first create a website, you may not want to display your progress while improving the website. However, there are still some important web design steps to prioritize while getting started with the BoldGrid page builder.

Logo and Brand Info

Ensure your logo, brand, and mission statement are prominent on the staging site and site engine optimization (SEO) title and description. Also, upload a smaller version of your logo (under 100 px x 100 px) as a site icon (favicon).

Contact Info

Contact options – email addresses, phone numbers, mailing locations – and alternatives for specific inquiries should be easily visible or available within a contact form. If the completed website will be on a different domain, that should also be stated.

Social Media

Social media links make it easier for visitors to follow you. Or embed a live feed to show you’re active without someone having to check a link.

Be more active by managing all social media from a single location using a social media manager like Buffer.com or Hootsuite.

Links to Supporters and Other Media

Instead of leaving visitors only with contact options, improve your SEO by sharing logos and links to organizations supporting your mission. You can also include links to sites reviewing your services or proving your legitimacy – e.g. Yelp and Bizapedia.com.

Test Custom Code on Posts, Pages, Customizations

You can use BoldGrid Staging to test custom code inserted in a post or page after cloning the data or inspiration using the Customizer.

We recommend you use our Cloud WordPress tool to test plugin, theme, or WordPress core updates.

After you’ve completed setting up your staging site, you can work on your full website knowing visitors have all the necessary info in the meantime.
