The number of products in cart is different on different page even though no change was made to the cart.

Our website is currently experiencing an issue - the number of products in cart is different on different page even though no change was made to the cart. You can replicate the issue by adding 4-6 products to cart, then click on different pages (home page, product detail page, etc) and pay attention to the number of products shown in cart on each page. The issue disappeared when we deactivate w3 total cache plugin in our admin panel. Please help us review this issue.
