BoldGrid as a page builder is quite intuitive. However, once it came to WordPress it became quite lacking. WordPress by nature is a blog platform, but BoldGrid doesn’t offer anything in the builder that caters to blogging. For instance, I would like to setup post pages that display posts in a grid layout for a single category. Other page builders in the WordPress plugin repository offer this. Why not BoldGrid?

    Hello Jared,

Thanks for your question about blogging widgets for BoldGrid. Yes, unfortunately, we do not get a lot of requests from bloggers, but we are always trying to improve, so we appreciate your feedback. It’s definitely possible to accomplish the setup you’re looking for, but it may require some custom solutions. When you wrote that you’re trying to “display posts in a grid layout for a single category”, does that mean each grid item is a different category displaying posts that are relevant to that category?

    Best,

    Christopher M.

    Christopher:

Thanks for replying to my question! What I want to achieve is to create different pages that display relevant articles in a grid layout. So, on the menu would be an item, “Advocate.” The user clicks on that item and is taken to a page displaying only articles that have been tagged with the category Advocate. WordPress already does something like this, but the layout is quite ugly (in my opinion), and it utilizes the standard list layout.

Thanks for clarifying, Jared. There are a few different ways to approach the issue. At this point, it’s difficult to know if BoldGrid may introduce an easy way to get this effect. In the meantime, the best way to go about it would be to create a BoldGrid child theme. Then, the post grids can be created with the built-in Bootstrap grid system. If those instructions are too advanced, there is a plugin that creates post grids, but we can’t guarantee this plugin will work well with BoldGrid.
