Adding Elements in BoldGrid

WordPress Page Builder

Elements

Elements make up the most basic level of content found on a page in BoldGrid. All of the pieces of content, such as images, buttons, icons, and more, fall under the category of elements. Think of elements as the actual information or items that create attraction to your website’s page.

Hierarchy in BoldGrid

From largest to smallest, the hierarchy of a page in BoldGrid starts with a section. Sections, in turn, contain rows. Rows contain one or more columns. Finally, columns contain elements: the content that makes up your page. For those starting with a blank page or editing an existing one, you may want to begin with our Editing Sections article or dive deeper into Editing Rows and Columns. On the other hand, if you are ready to add content, then you are in the right place.

Editing Elements

When editing a section of a page and adding content within a column, like a picture or text, you will see a new red toolbar appear with the four-pointed arrows. If you hold down the left mouse button, you can drag one or all of those elements to a new section of your page within any column of your choice. By clicking on the three horizontal lines (sometimes called a “hamburger”) you will see a list of options for editing the existing content. Similar to sections, rows, or columns, you may clone or delete elements from the options menu. Cloning creates a duplicate of the element(s) selected, while deleting removes them from the current section, row, and column entirely. When you select “Font” from the “Edit Content” section, you will see these options for editing text from this section: Choose from various font sizes, colors, and effects (or none at all if you prefer the default settings). If editing an image (as shown above) you will see the default WordPress editing options. Choose where you would like the image displayed, change the media, or edit the media’s metadata (like adding a link, caption, or alt text). Adding more elements or content to each page of your site will help website visitors understand the purpose of a particular page; BoldGrid helps you do that more efficiently.
